Tips and brief about Written Test 1: GSAT (Global Samsung Aptitude Paper)
The aptitude test is
very simple, however it’s difficult to reach the high cutoff scores. There are
instances where even toppers couldn't get through the process, as the reason
behind being lack of awareness regarding the time management and smart work.
Often students will be wondering about their selection criteria, but the one
with a proper planning and time management could easily crack the test.
Need to be a very quick
problem solver and should maintain accuracy in your answers
Part 1: Aptitude (25 questions)
Its mainly consist of two sections:
1. Data Interpretation (20 questions) - average level questions, but need to be fast in approach.
2. Basic level Numeracy (5 questions)- very easy questions will be asked.
Part 2: Logical Reasoning
The rest 20 questions will be Logical Reasoning.
Technical Paper- 30 questions (1 hour)
The technical paper consists of MCQ’s and one should have a decent command in C, C++, OS , OOPS concepts, classes, inheritance, basic java etc. A quick read of Let us C by Yashwant Kannetkar prior to a day before selection process would possibly put you in a better stance while solving question.
For Samsung R&D profile, the applicants may be asked write a program and they will be provide with 30 mins of time. E.g: Predict a texture for mobile using strings and most of the technical interview will be based on this.
TECHNICAL
INTERVIEW
Usually the interviewer
will ask basic questions like tell something about yourself, your course work
etc. It’s been repeatedly noticed that the Samsung recruiters are really cool
and friendly. First they make the candidate comfortable to the interview
process, so that they could extract the best from him/her. Following up with
the technical questions asked in the interview, one must be well prepared with
the concepts in C, C++, Java, OS, OOPS etc. Also you will be asked to explain
about your projects, if you have accomplished any! And internship plays a very
vital role, in few cases the discussion might be primarily based on the work
that you had done as an intern.
For Samsung R&D profile, the candidates will be asked to optimize the code that they have written as a part of technical written round.
